I have obviously taken a little break, but it is for a few good reasons. I traveled to an exciting place
started a new job at Neiman Marcus
met Jase from “Ducky Dynasty”
tried Max’s Wine Dive’s fried chicken
visited family and friends as often as possible
BUT I have not been here as much as I would like
The trip of a lifetime took me to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. If you have not been and if you have sworn off Mexico, please reconsider and give this little city a chance. For those of us from Texas, it is a short flight to a quaint, European-style town with cobblestone streets and lots of shopping. Disclaimer: it is not on the coast, BUT it is in the mountains and, for Texans, August is the best time to get to 70 degree temps.
If you can, stay at the Hyder House. It is an amazingly beautiful house with room for 10 couples. This may require you to know some incredibly generous people as I am fortunate to know. There are quite a few hotels in town that would make a great stay for a long weekend trip.
Full disclosure: they are always celebrating something in San Miguel, which means it is not odd to see this
or hear fireworks and church bells at 6 in the morning. Still, I love it and cannot wait to go back.
With my new job, I think it will be fun to explore the fashions of Texas while I road trip around the state. Big state, big fashions.
Don’t worry, food will still be involved.
Coming up next: City Market in Luling, TX
